Wet and Wild Ryder Cup in Wales

Graham McDowell sinks the winning putt and clinching point for team Euro. (Photos by Donald Miralle for GolfWorld)

Just go back from an 11 hour flight back from the UK last night, were I had an extended trip in Wales after the first Monday rain delayed Ryder Cup in it’s 83-year history. Graham McDowell of Northern Ireland topped off his HUGE year after winning the US Open in Pebble Beach less than 4 months ago by sinking the final putt and clinching point for the Euro Squad in a crazy scene complete with the green being rushed by thousands of fans. I’m just glad to be back home even if just for a couple days, although the rain has followed me to San Diego. Below is a gallery of my favorite photos and a funny video showing the scene at the 1st tee from the event, which I shot for GolfWorld and Golf Digest…enjoy!
