Cardiff Crew Represents!

CARDIFF, CA – MAY 15: Members of the North County Paddlers pose for a group portrait at Cardiff Reef on May 15, 2012 in Cardiff, California. Paddleboarding is an open ocean water sport in which participants are propelled by a swimming motion using their arms while lying or kneeling on a paddleboard in the ocean and surfing unbroken swells to cross between islands or journey from one coastal area to another. Lifeguard, surfer and waterman Thomas Edward Blake is credited as the pioneer in paddleboard construction in the early 1930s. (Photo by Donald Miralle)

Mahalo to the Cardiff Crew who showed up bright and early at 6:30am for the big group portrait for ADAY.org! Big thanks to Roch Frey for organizing on the NCP facebook page and Greg Cali for assisting with set-up…

  1. I really like the lighting effect on making this photo (darkening out the sky). What time of day was this captured? I’ve seen this effect before & would like to learn it. Do you mind sharing your technique?
